The Rev. Tommy Dillon, Rector of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge, talks about how Invite Welcome Connect helped transform the life of his congregation as their average Sunday attendance grew from 45 to 130.
Hi, I'm the Reverend Tommy Dillon, rector of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Over the past eight years, St. Margaret's has been blessed to grow from a congregation with an average Sunday attendance of 45 to now over 130. But with this exciting growth, we realized we needed a thoughtful and intentional way to truly welcome, engage, and connect those who were coming through our doors.
We didn't want people to just feel like visitors. We wanted them to feel like family. That's why we turned to the Invite Welcome Connect model. We formed a team of dedicated parishioners to put these principles into action, helping us to create a culture of hospitality, evangelism, and belonging.
This ministry has been transformative for our St. Margaret's community, allowing us to invite with intention, to welcome with open hearts, and to connect with deeper relationships and faith. We are so grateful for the tools and vision Invite, Welcome, and Connect has given to us as a community as we continue to grow as a loving and inclusive community. Thank you..
